Socialyte Labs Inc. operates the Socialyte mobile application and related services at thesocialyte.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies when you use the Socialyte app, our website, and related features (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

We do not require precise location to use Socialyte. We may receive approximate location derived from your IP address for security and compliance, or location embedded in content you choose to upload.

2.6 Local storage and caching

To improve playback, the app may temporarily store encrypted video cache on your device. You can clear cached media in app settings.

3. Protections for Minors

Users under 13 may not create an account. This helps us comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Enhanced protections for users ages 13–17:

  • Accounts are private by default and cannot be made public until age 18
  • We do not sell personal information of any user, including minors
  • We do not use personal information of users under 18 for targeted advertising based on their interests
  • Parents or guardians may contact us regarding a minor's account as described below

You must provide an accurate date of birth. Misrepresenting your age violates our Terms of Service and may result in account termination.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

5. Automated Processing

We use automated systems to help operate the Service. This may include computer-assisted analysis of uploaded videos and images to generate descriptive tags, assign categories, detect potential policy issues, and rank content in feeds based on your stated interests and in-app activity.

Automated tools support safety and product functionality. They do not replace human review in all cases. Where required by applicable law, you may contact us to request information about significant automated decisions that affect you.
